Born August 10, 1964, R&B singer Aaron Hall survived a gritty childhood filled
with violence. His big break came when Timmy Gatling, his co-worker at a shoe
store, heard him singing and was impressed. They hooked up with producer Teddy
Riley and formed the genre-defining new jack swing trio Guy. When the group
disbanded, Hall launched his solo career with the 1992 single “The Truth”, a
