Born into a family of traditional Norwegian musicians, folk singer Agnes Buen
Garnås is the daughter of Anders Buen and the sister of Knut Buen and Hauk Buen.
Born in Kongsberg on October 23, 1946, she learned the traditional ballad
repertoire as a child and, after studying at Telemark University, began her
singing career with the trio album Når klokkune gjeve dur (1976), in
collaboration with Sondre Bratland and her sister-in-law Hanne Kjersti Buen.
After a first solo album of progressive folk, Draumkvedet(1984), she
