Raised in a small Welsh-speaking community in Anglesey, Aled Jones first started
singing in the choir at Bangor Cathedral at the age of nine - and was lead
soloist two years later. He was in his early teens when he found fame singing
'Walking in the Air' in an animated television movie of 'The Snowman' shown on
Channel 4 in the UK in 1982. The song reached number five in the UK charts and
he went on to sing with the National Philharmonic Orchestra in the film 'Santa
Claus: The Movie' (1985).
