Born on December 28th, 1959 in Madrid, Spanish singer Ana Torroja Fungairiño
first rose to fame as the frontwoman of high-flyers Mecano, who ruled the
Spanish pop scene throughout the '80s and '90s. Prior to the trio splitting up
for good in 1998, she began a decades-long solo career under the name Ana
Torroja, through which she has so far notched up eight studio albums and a
wealth of cover songs and duets. Her debut album, Puntos Cardinales, was
