Cody Johnson
Cody Johnson is an American country singer from Sebastopol, Texas, where he was
born on May 21, 1987. He started playing music at the age of 12, but delayed the
launch of his solo career to work as a bull rider for rodeos and a prison guard
first. He then released his debut album, Black and White Label, on his own CoJo
label in 2006 and sold CDs from the back of his pick-up truck on the rodeo
circuit. While working as a prison guard, he formed the Cody Johnson Band and
played regional clubs during weekends. He eventually became a full-time musician
