Colonel Abrams released his self-titled debut album in 1985 after signing to MCA
records where he quickly became one of the label's rising stars. The album went
to number 13 on the R&B charts, spawning a number one single in the dance
charts, and was followed up by a similarly successful second album which also
generated a number one dance hit. Abrams' brand of R&B and hip-hop found favour
