Confederate Railroad
Confederate Railroad are a country rock band from the deep South who have
enjoyed more than 20 hit singles in the Country Charts during their 30-year
career. One of the founding members was lead singer Danny Shirley who, prior to
forming the band, had previously had five singles in the charts as a solo
artist.
The group were formed in Atlanta in 1987 and after a few years backing so-called
outlaw country artists such as David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck they signed a
