Crayon Pop are a South Korean K-pop girl group that was created in 2012 by the
Chrome Entertainment company, although prior to it had been a four-piece known
as Hurricane Pop. During its lifespan the group comprised five members: Soyul,
Geummi, Ellin, Choa and Way. Following a debut year of limited success in a
highly competitive market, the band scored their first big hit in 2013 with the
single 'Bar Bar Bar', the video of which achieved more than 50 million YouTube
views. The single itself went to the top of Billboard's K-pop Hot 100 Chart and
remained there for eight weeks.
