Daði Freyr
(Daoi Freyr)
Born on June 30, 1992, in Reykjavík, Iceland, Daði Freyr is a Berlin-based
singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Raised in Denmark, he began his
career in the band RetRoBot, who won the Músíktilraunir (Music Experiments)
award in 2012. His solo career received a boost in 2017, when his song "Hvað með
það?" came in second place in the Söngvakeppnin contest. He released his first
EP, Næsta Skref, that same year, followed in 2019 by his full-length debut
album, & Co. He then assembled collection of family members and friends, dubbed
