Born N'Goran Serge Koko in 1985, Ivorian rapper Defty was the youngest of nine
children born in Bouaké, but moved to several towns including Bondoukou,
Korhogo, Man and Divo, where his father's career as a gendarme led him. Lulled
by the French chanson of artists such as France Gall and Vanessa Paradis, he
gradually discovered rap and decided to follow in the footsteps of his role
models Almighty and Stezo, while remaining open to American and French hip hop
