El Guincho
Pablo Díaz-Reixa is a musician, producer and DJ who takes his stage name of El
Guincho from a bird native to the Canary Islands. He began his career as a
drummer in a band called Coconuts in Barcelona, where he was studying, but soon
went solo. He lived in France for a year before returning to Barcelona where he
infused African and Arabic influences with hip-hop, techno and other Western
sounds.
His first LP came out in 2007 but failed to make an impact. He produced his
second LP, 'Alegranza' in 2008. The album used a lot of sample sounds and loops
