Emily King
Singer and songwriter Emily King was born in New York City July 10, 1985 to
parents who performed together as a musical duo. Learning at their feet, she
began pursuing a music career while still a teenager. Her debut album, 2007’s
East Side Story, established her as a fresh voice in R&B and garnered a Grammy
nomination for best Contemporary R&B Album. It also scored her a pair of top 40
Adult R&B hits with “Walk in My Shoes” and “U & I”. She soon broke from her
record deal with J Records and released the EP Seven a few years later in 2011.
