One of the most celebrated jazz pianists of the 2010s and 2020s, Emmet Cohen was
born in Miami, Florida on May 25, 1990. Beginning at the age of three, he began
to learn the piano using the Suzuki method, a music curriculum and teaching
philosophy created by Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki. While attending high
school in Montclair, New Jersey, he was a member of The Gibson/Baldwin Grammy
