Esto Es Eso, founded in 2006 by Ecuadorian audiovisual producer Luis Villamarín,
blends traditional Ecuadorian guitar music with hip-hop, rock, blues, and reggae
to create a unique and internationally recognized sound. Their debut album,
Ecuafornia (2006), introduced their "pasillo-hop" fusion and gained massive
popularity with the single "Light It Up," which remained on MTV Latin America
for six months and became the theme song for the political satire show En Corto.
