Feist is a Grammy-nominated, Juno Award-winning solo artist, as well as a member of the Canadian indie rock collective Broken Social Scene. She was born as "Leslie Feist" on February 13, 1976, in Amherst, Nova Scotia. Her debut album, Monarch (Lay Your Jewelled Head Down), was released in 1999, but her commercial breakthrough arrived in the form of 2004's Let It Die.
