Born as "Rodolfo Olivares" in Camargo, Mexico, on April 19, 1947, Fito Olivares
is a cumbia musician best known for his Lo Nuestro Award-nominated hit single
"Juana La Cubana" and his ASCAP Award-winning song "El Colesterol." He was
raised alongside his brother Jaime and Javier Olivares in a musical family, and
the three siblings relocated to Houston, Texas, in 1977. There, they joined
their brother-in-law, Jacinto Treviño, in the group Tam y Tex in 1979. The band
