Although born in San Francisco, Francisca Valenzuela shot to fame in Chile where
her family moved when she was 12-years-old. Her first claim to fame was as a
poet when she published her book 'Defenseless Waters' which included a forward
by the Chilean author Isobel Allende. She followed this with a second book a
