Harlem boy Frankie Lymon was just thirteen when, in 1956, his band The Teenagers hit the charts with Why Do Fools Fall In Love. Other hits followed, including "I Want You To Be My Girl". Frankie left the group in 1957 to record the solo album Rock'n'Roll With Frankie Lymon, and appeared in films and on television. The change in his voice shattered his career. A drug addict, he was hospitalized in 1961 and died of an overdose at the age of 25.
