Gang of Four produced some of the most startling and potent post-punk of the
early 1980s and later became a big influence on the likes of Nirvana, Fugazi and
Franz Ferdinand. Formed by Leeds University students Jon King and Andy Gill in
1976, the band were championed by Radio 1 DJ John Peel and early singles
'Damaged Goods' and 'At Home He's a Tourist' led to debut album 'Entertainment!'
(1979) becoming a cult classic.
Their single 'I Love a Man in Uniform' was banned by the BBC because it was
