Roach, who was co-leading a now historic quintet with Clifford Brown. After
Clifford Brown's untimely death, he continued to perform with Max Roach and took
part in the bands led by Sonny Rollins in the mid-50s. The two musicians already
knew each other, having recorded together in Max Roach and Clifford Brown's
