Groove Collective are an acid jazz aggregation formed in New York City in the 1990s. They made their recording debut on an eponymous album in 1993 and made an impression with an appearance on the AIDs charity album 'Stolen Moments: Red Hot + Cool' in 1994. The line-up has changed over the years as several original members departed. Their 1995 single 'Whatchugot' reached number 17 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs Chart and the following year a cover of the Beatle's song 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)' went to number 45 and 'Everybody (We the People)' peaked at number 48.
