Jack Tempchin, a solo artist and hit songwriter, is best known for his close
friendship and collaboration with Glenn Frey of the Eagles. The two first met in
1972 when Frey, then part of the duo Longbranch Pennywhistle, stayed at
Tempchin's house in San Diego. Two years later, Tempchin played Frey a new song
he had written called "Peaceful Easy Feeling". Enthralled by the tune, Frey
recorded it with his new band, the Eagles, and transformed it into a beloved
hit.
