A jazz artist who has significant skills as both a singer and a drummer, Jamison
Ross was born on 12 November 1987 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was directing the
musical endeavors of his father’s church while just a teenager and went on to
acquire bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music. The documentary Chops captured
his triumph at a major high school jazz competition at Lincoln Center and led to
him working with such established artists as Ramsey Lewis and Carmen Lundy, the
