Jenny and the Mexicats are a lively example of what happens when you mix a truly
eclectic range of backgrounds and influences. With members and a history
spanning Spain, Mexico and the UK, they bring wide influences from jazz and
rockabilly to flamenco and folk.
The band's lead, Jenny Ball, started playing trumpet at the age of seven, began
singing at 15 and learned to play guitar along the way. She played in jazz bands
and classical orchestras for most of her young life, but her time in the
spotlight really began when she moved to Spain in 2008, then aged 20.
