Jil Caplan is a French singer and songwriter. She was born Valentine
Guillen-Viale on October 23, 1965, in Paris, France. While studying theater at
the Cours Florent, she met producer and composer Jay Alanski. He encouraged her
to sing, which led to the release of her first album, 1987’s À Peine 21. The
album spawned the single "Oh! Tous les soirs" which was a success, entering the
French Top 40 chart. This was the beginning of a musical partnership that would
produce much more music, including 1990’s La Charmeuse de Serpents, considered
