João Selva, born in Rio and the son of a pastor in Ipanema, discovered music at
an early age with bossa nova icon Wanda Sá. An itinerant artist, he toured
Bahia, Senegal and the Caribbean, enriching his universe. After studying in
Recife and Lyon, he settled in France, performing with Forró de Rebeca and
Sociedade Recreativa. In 2016, he launched his solo career with Bruno
Patchworks, unveiling Natureza (2017). Worldwide success came in 2021 with
