Singer and songwriter Joseph Williams, the son of famous film composer John
Williams, was born September 1, 1960 in Santa Monica, California. He released
his self-titled debut album in 1982, and he gigged steadily as a studio singer,
occasionally performing on songs that appeared in movies scored by his father.
Eventually, he lent his vocals to such movie standards as The Lion King’s “Can
You Fell the Love Tonight”. He made his biggest impression in the late 1980s
