Lyric-coloratura mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato was born in Prairie Village,
Kansas on February 13, 1969. She studied vocal music education in Kansas at the
Wichita State University before continuing her formal musical education at the
Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From there, she was
