Kimberly Michelle Pate, who goes by the name K. Michelle, is an American R&B singer-songwriter who has had three recordings go to number one on Billboard's Top R&B Albums Chart. Born in Memphis, Tennessee she learned to play the piano and guitar at a young age and studied music at Florida A&M University. Her 2009 single 'Self Made' featuring Gucci Mane reached number 89 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart.
