Formed in 2001, the jazz quintet Kneebody brings together four alumni of the
Eastman School of Music in New York: Adam Benjamin (keyboards), Shane Endsley
(trumpet), Ben Wendel (tenor saxophone) and Kaveh Rastegar (bass), as well as
drummer Nate Wood, a transfer from another Los Angeles school, CalArts. Based in
Santa Monica, California, the quintet has released a series of adventurous
albums on various labels, featuring avant-garde jazz, funk and post-rock:
