Chris Kelly and Chris Smith were twelve and eleven respectively when they were
discovered in 1990 by Jermaine Dupri, himself barely out of his teens. Two years
later, Kris Kross enjoyed worldwide success with "Jump " and the album Totally
Krossed Out. The childlike duo fell apart in 1993 with Da Bomb, whose success in
the U.S. did little to mask the decline elsewhere. Problems linked to the
moulting of the two young singers' voices ended Kris Kross' career after Young,
Rich & Dangerous in 1996. On May 1, 2013, Chris Kelly was found dead at his home
in Atlanta, Georgia.
