Leo Kottke

Rock music
Folk rock
This inventive musician finds his primary inspiration in Mississippi country-blues, as practiced by Mississippi John Hurt. In 1991, after 21 albums devoted mainly to guitar, Leo Kottke signed his first all-sung album, Great Big Boy (BMG), in a folk register. His voice is veiled, nonchalant and pleasant. Conservatories devote classes to the style of this innovative, self-taught blind musician, master of the twelve-string guitar. He has written works for guitar and orchestra with Steven Paulus of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
