Madvillain were an American alternative hip-hop duo, consisting of MC Daniel “MF Doom” Dumile and Otis “Madlib” Jackson Jr. A longtime fan of MF Doom’s Operation: Doomsday (1999), Jackson got in contact with Dumile to make a collaborative album. Dumile agreed on the spot and travelled to Los Angeles to start working on their debut album in 2002.
