A native of Montreal, techno music maker Marie Davidson (born in 1987) first
gained success as half of Les Momies de Palerme, a synth heavy duo with Xarah
Dion. She also was part of Land of Kush, as well as DKMD, a project on which she
worked with David Kristian. Her solo debut, Perte D’Identité, a moody collection
of lo-fi electro soundscapes backing lyrics that were often talk-sung, dropped
in 2014. For her 2016 follow up, Adieux au Dancefloor, she shifted to more dance
friendly beats while the lyrics took on a more openly autobiographical tone.
