Real name Jean-Michel Bagré, Ivorian rapper MC One hails from Cocody, a district
of the capital Abidjan, and grew up listening to his father's reggae and the
sound of Sexion d'Assaut. He was only 12 when he decided to take up rap himself,
via a freestyle in the streets of his neighborhood. It was filmed and posted on
social networks, bringing the young teenager into the spotlight in an unexpected
