Monk
Monk, whose real name is Sascha Witte, has been making a name for himself since
the mid-2010s, primarily as part of the five-piece hip-hop clique BHZ. Together
with Longus Mongus, BigPat, Dead Dawg and Ion Miles, the Berliners stand for a
cross-border sound in which boom bap and old-school beats are just as prominent
as trend-conscious trap, cloud rap and drill elements. With the premiere EP Monk
, named after himself, Witte also drew attention to himself solo in 2018 -
making him the first band member to take this step. Tracks such as "Vertrauen"
show the MC from an unusually me...
