Formed by house music production duo Masters of Work – Little Louie Vega (born in The Bronx on June 12, 1965) and Kenny ‘Dope’ Gonzalez (born in Brooklyn, New York on July 6, 1970) - Nuyorican Soul was a short-lived musical concept that combined Latin music, jazz and house. Vega - nephew of Fania All Stars singer Hector Lavoe – and Gonzalez formed Masters of Work in 1990 and after years of success, created Nuyorican Soul in order to combine their house sound with their passion for Latin music, soul, jazz, and disco.
