The Swiss composer Philippe Jordan was born in Zurich in 1974. He enroled at the
city's Conservatory at the age of 16 obtaining a diploma in piano instruction.
He then went on to study theory and composition with Hans Lehmann and piano with
Karl Engel. With such a thorough grounding in the study and application of
classical music it is little wonder that Jordan has risen through the ranks of
the world of classical music to become a highly respected conductor and musical
director.
