A founding member of the group Assassin in the 1980s-1990s, Rockin' Squat broke new ground in 2002 with his Illegal Mixtapes. Two years later, via his Livin' Astro structure, the political rapper caused a controversy with "France à fric" from the album Too Hot For TV.
