Jazz tenor saxophonist Seamus Blake was born in London, England on December 8,
1970, but raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. As a child, he was
introduced to jazz music by his mother. He attended Berklee College of Music in
Boston, Massachusetts, and while still a student, he was asked to record with
drummer Victor Lewis. Seamus Blake graduated from Berklee College and relocated
to New York City, New York, where he integrated himself into the New York jazz
