Inspired by the post-grunge and alternative metal scenes of the mid-1990s,
Sevendust became mainstays of the American hard rock world with their raw sound
and high-energy shows. The band formed as "Rumblefish" in 1994 in Atlanta,
Georgia. A name change followed in 1996, and Sevendust released their
self-titled, gold-certified album Sevendust one year later. Home followed in
1999 and reached number 19 on the Billboard 200, led by the modern rock singles
"Denial" and "Waffle." Home eventually went gold, as did 2001's Animosity.
