Inspired by the post-grunge and alternative metal scenes of the mid-1990s, Sevendust became mainstays of the American hard rock world with their raw sound and high-energy shows. The band formed as "Rumblefish" in 1994 in Atlanta, Georgia. A name change followed in 1996, and Sevendust released their self-titled, gold-certified album Sevendust one year later.
