(Shota Shimizu)
The Japanese singer-songwriter Shota Shimizu was born in Osaka in 1989 and made
his professional debut at the age of 18 performing at the Apollo Theatre in New
York. Prior to his debut Shota would perform English lyrics but soon began
singing in his native tongue.
His debut single 'Home' was released in 2008 and charted at number five in Japan
earning a gold accreditation in the process. The follow up 'Aishiteru' sold less
copies but charted higher. Both singles were lifted from Shota's debut album
