Merging jazz-tinged rap with klezmer music, it had to be thought of... That's
what Canadian Josh Dolgin aka SoCalled did when he discovered old traditional
Yiddish tunes. The result is particularly addictive on A Hip-Hop Haggadah
(2005), where the rapper and producer brings together two worlds, that of
Matisyahu and that of Killah Priest from the Wu-Tang Clan. Between
collaborations with David Krakauer and Abraham Inc, Arat Kilo and Enrico Macias,
SoCalled continues his eclectic approach on Ghettoblaster in 2007 and SleepOver
in 2011.
