Spitz is one of the best-selling rock bands in Japanese history. The group was
formed by four university students in Tokyo, Japan, in 1987. After signing to
Polydor, Spitz made its studio debut in 1991 with a self-titled album that
charted at Number 60 on the Oricon Albums Chart. Mainstream success eluded Spitz
until 1995, however, when the single "Robinson" reached the Top 10, remained
there for more than 30 weeks, and quickly sold more than one million copies.
