Steve Veilleux is a Quebec folk singer-songwriter, born December 7, 1978 in
Drummondville, Quebec, Canada. He grew up in a country music culture strongly
influenced by his musician father. As a teenager during the grunge movement of
the early 1990s, it was artist Kurt Cobain who inspired him to write his own
songs. In the late 1990s, he founded the group Kaïn with Yannick Blanchette.
They were later joined by Patrick Lemieux and Éric Maheu. Kaïn has become a
fixture on the Quebec music scene, with albums, radio hits and concert tours.
