In 1975, tensions between The Jackson 5 and Tamla Motown boss Berry Gordy led
the group to change labels and continue their musical adventure under the name
The Jacksons, then including Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Michael and newcomer Randy in
place of Jermaine. At a time when disco was dethroning soul, the group
experienced a resurgence in success thanks to the rise of Michael Jackson's solo
career. Then at the height of his popularity with the albums Thriller (1982) and
