Formed from a split from Sisters of Mercy, The Mission quickly became a force
for energetic gothic rock. Success soon followed for the band led by Wayne
Hussey (vocals), with God's Own Medicine in 1986 capitalizing on the buzz
surrounding The Mission. Children (1988) and Carved in Sand (1990) complete The
Mission's golden trilogy. Calibrated for the American market, 1991's bloated
