Popular in Portugal and France, singer Tony Carreira (born António Manuel Mateus
Antunes near Coimbra, December 30, 1963) continues the tradition of
international crooners. After spending part of his childhood in France, he
returned to Portugal and tried his hand at singing. Success came in 1995 with
the album Ai Destino, and has continued to grow ever since. A charming singer,
he regularly tops the Portuguese sales charts and sells out venues such as the
