Scottish indie-pop mainstays and twee trailblazers the Trashcan Sinatras formed
in Irvine in 1986. The band, composed of Francis Reader (bass, vocals), Davy
Hughes and George McDaid (guitar), later replaced by Paul Livingston and John
Douglas, joining his brother Stephen Douglas (drums), signed to Go! Discs in
1987 and after setting up a recording studio in the town of Kilmarnock, began
