Tristesse Contemporaine, an international trio with a passion for new wave, is
based in Paris. Formed in 2009, the group includes a Japanese singer, a Swedish
singer and an Englishman of Jamaican descent. The group's name comes from the
book Tristesse Contemporaine, written by nineteenth-century Belgian Hippolyte
Fierens Gevaert. The trio emerged from obscurity in 2012 with the EP I Didn't
Know in January and the album Tristesse Contemporaine in March. Stay Golden
